An immersive, two-part experience in partnership with Illinois 250— beginning with a
journey through 10 interactive stations where youth performers bring pivotal moments in
history to life and engage audiences in real-time dialogue about what those moments
mean today.

The experience culminates in a powerful live concert where the voices of our youth rise
through music, spoken word, and conviction.

Youth Civic Light Opera of Chicago proudly announces its 2026 performance in
partnership with Illinois America 250: Voices of Democracy. Featuring extraordinary youth from
across the city of Chicago.

 The performance highlights the ideas that have shaped our
democracy, the issues facing our community today, and the future of Chicago and our nation.
